Purpose:
The Rubye Hankins Hansbrough Memorial Scholarship awards a scholarship(s) to college-bound/trade school bound high school seniors based on demonstrated academic achievement and the desire to continue their education to change our communities and our world.
Criteria:
Eligible students must be graduating high school seniors from the Carroll County Public School System.
These students should plan to continue their education at an accredited four-year college or university, junior college, or trade school.
• 2.75 GPA on a 4.0 scale
• Transcript through 1st semester applicants’ senior year
• Verification of transcript will be done through your counselor
• 400-600 word Essay (Topic TBD)
• 3 references (1 high school teacher, 1 high school administrator, and 1 reference of your choice)
Guidelines:
Scholarships will be awarded on May 12th of each year (unless it falls on the weekend).
Applicants must maintain a 2.75 GPA through the first semester of their senior year. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
Amount:
The scholarship will be a minimum of $1000 annually to be paid in one installment.

Renewal:
This scholarship is not renewable. Only high school seniors at Carroll County Public Schools who plan to enroll in an accredited four-year college or university, junior college, or trade school are eligible to apply.
